Top Ten Reasons To Visit Nerja Spain

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Having been to Nerja Spain about a dozen times, I can think of plenty of reasons to keep going back to that slice of paradise. These ten ones should be enough to convince you to visit it a first time.

Beautiful Weather

I have had a few vacations where most of my plans were dampened by the weather, and that has never happened to me while staying at Nerja Spain. The town enjoys clement if not sunny weather almost all year through and yet there is always a gentle breeze blowing from the ocean so it is not too hot.

Sun And Sand Galore

People come to the Costa del Sol for its beaches and this is the same reason why Nerja is popular. Nerja, though a small town, happens to have six beaches so you can always find yourself a spot under the sun where you can relax.

Romance Is In The Air

Nerja may be no Paris or Venice but it certainly is a romantic place, with all its Andalusian charm, which is why it is a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons.

Spectacular Views

Spectacular views can be found everywhere, not just in the Balcon de Europa. In fact, most hotels in Nerja offer a view of the mountains or of the Mediterranean.

Diving Par Excellence

Some people consider Nerja Spain to be the scuba diving capital of the Costa del Sol. Here, you will find PADI-certified diving instructors who can teach you the ropes, and once you’re all set, you can enjoy the amazing underwater scenery just a short distance from the shore, in the reefs, caverns and sea walls that are a part of the Cerro Gerdo National Park.

Adventures With Nature

If you’d rather stay above ground, you will also find many interesting animals all around, especially beautiful migrating birds. There are hiking trails, as well, and riding trails that you can follow on the back of one of the famous Andalusian horses.

A Budget Traveller’s Paradise

On a budget? Don’t worry, you don’t need much to enjoy your Nerja travel break. There are many affordable apartments, inns and eateries throughout the town, and you don’t need to spend a lot to enjoy a day on the beach either.

Great Paella And Tapas

Being a seaside resort, Nerja serves up great seafood, and a particularly mouthwatering serving of seafood paella. If you’re not that hungry, you can enjoy a wide variety of tapas, as well.

Colourful Fiestas

Spain is known for its fiestas, and Nerja has its own share. The Nerja Fair in October for example is especially popular, along with the Feast of the town patron, San Isidro, on May 15, the Bonfires of St. John in June and the Nerja Carnival in February.

More Fun Is Always Just Around The Corner

Nerja Spain is not a remote town at all. Rather, whenever you’re in the mood for something new or more exciting, you can just hop in your car and drive east, west or north and find a whole new set of places and experiences to discover.
